R gave me a book called The Slight Edge. It’s part of the new wave of Self Help books that say ‘You know what you have to do. You’re not doing it. So just do a small step towards it every day.’ My small step is to leave a tiny morsel on my plate every time I eat. This should build up to lots over years. Our very slim friend D does this, so it clearly works. B calls it his ‘offering to the gods’.
